Our Future Hope

Behold, I tell you a mystery:
We shall not all sleep,
but we shall all be changed—
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye,
at the last shofar.
For the shofar will sound,
and the dead will be raised incorruptible,
and we will be changed. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52 TLV)

For a while, many books have been written about being “a better you,” on how to self-improve and live with productivity and confidence. But only two changes will ever truly make you to be a better person. “If anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 TLV) The moment we give our lives to Messiah, He begins a renovation process in our personalities to make us better people.

The other change is one mentioned in 1 Corinthians 15. In the future, at the moment of the disciple’s resurrection, we will be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye. All sinful and perishing vestiges of our lives will fall away and will be transformed to be like Yeshua. The process that began when accepting salvation will be completed with glorification upon our resurrection.

If you find yourself discouraged, remember, we have a great, bright future, in Messiah!
