Unborn Human Lives Matter

By Peter & Ginny Van Der Steur

O LORD, ... YOUR EYES COULD SEE ME AS AN EMBRYO, BUT IN YOUR BOOK ALL MY DAYS WERE ALREADY WRITTEN; MY DAYS HAD BEEN SHAPED BEFORE ANY OF THEM EXISTED.  Psalm 139:16 (Complete Jewish Bible)

God made us in His image; this means that everyone is extremely valuable and need to be respected and honored. We are for the rights of every human being, everyone, and especially of the children in the womb and of the elderly. We need to particularly protect the most vulnerable and innocent from death.

Truly the biggest holocaust that has ever existed has been underway worldwide for quite some time: the abortion of unborn babies.  Since 1980, globally more than 1,500,000,000 (1.5 billion) unborn babies have lost their lives through abortion.  Among other things, rampant sexual immorality (sex outside of marriage) has contributed significantly to this.

A baby's heartbeat begins around 16 days after conception. And the nervous system of the baby can feel pain as early as 13 weeks after conception, maybe earlier. Human life begins at conception. The baby can grow and move. The baby already has several characteristics, including a DNA, at conception. The most important thing is that each baby is created in the image of God.  Each one is beloved of God and a gift of God.  Each one is unique.  There is no one else on earth like this particular individual.  All lives on earth matter.

Aren't you glad your mother didn't abort you?
